The Game Awards 2022 merasimi gece saatlerinde gerçekleştirildi. Yeni fragmanlar, yeni oyun duyuruları da gecede değerli bir yer tutuyordu elbette, fakat gecenin temel gündemi doğal ki ödüllerdi.
Elden Ring ile God of War Ragnarök ortasında bir rekabet yaşanması bekleniyordu, gecenin kazananı Elden Ring oldu; bu 2 oyunun kapıştıkları 3 kategoride de (Yılın Oyunu, En Âlâ Oyun İdaresi, En Yeterli Sanat Yönetimi) mükafata Elden Ring uzandı. God of War ise; 5 mükafatla gecenin en çok ödül kazanan oyunu olmayı başardı. Onu, 4 mükafatla Elden Ring takip etti. İndie cephesinde 2 mükafata uzanan Stray de gecenin öbür dikkat çekeni oldu. En Âlâ Performans mükafatını Al Pacino’nun sunması da bu geceden akıllarda kalacak ayrıntılardan birisiydi.
